The Police Fiscal Manager, Rick Acord, reports directly to the Chief of Police. He oversees and manages the financial, budgeting and grant writing aspects for the police department. The Fiscal Section also conducts asset inventory maintenance, uniform and equipment issuance, invoice payments, and management of the alarm program. The police department 2016 annual General Fund budget was $34,721,799.
Alarms- Cry Wolf Services provides alarm processing services for the Overland Park Police Department under the department’s false alarm reduction program. This service has continued to improve the efficiency of our false alarm tracking and billing process. During 2016, Overland Park Police received 6,275 alarm calls. Of these 4,317 (69%) were false alarms. 1,909 (30%) were canceled false alarms and 49 (1%) were valid alarms.
