Fiscal Management
The Police Fiscal Manager, Rick Acord ,reports directly to the Chief of Police. Rick Acord oversees and manages the financial, budgeting and grant writing aspects of the Overland Park Police Department. The Fiscal Section also conducts asset inventory maintenance, uniforms, equipment issuance, invoice payments, and management of alarm program. The police 2018 annual general fund budget was $37,684,730
Alarms
Cry Wolf Services provides alarm processing services for the
police department under the department’s false alarm
reduction program. This service continues to improve the
efficiency of our false alarm tracking and billing process.
During 2018 Overland Park Police received 6,202 alarm 2018 calls compared to 5,902 alarm calls in 2017. In 2018 4,482
(72%) alarms were false. 1,674 (27%) were canceled false alarms and 46 (1%) were valid alarms.
