JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Responsible for assisting patrons and monitoring activity areas within the community center. Enforces rules and regulations; checks-in patrons, collect monies; sets-up and arranges rooms; and performs light custodial duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Check children in and out of the Community Center facilities

Supervise children and enforce rules

Engages and conducts activities with children

Operate software program for all transactions

Creates a playful and safe environment for children to feel welcome in

Collects program fees

Performs smaller housekeeping duties including, but not limited to, organizing and picking up toys

Meets all requirements of performance that include, but are not limited to; attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks, where applicable

Must be flexible in their availability and be willing to work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks

Must be available (especially during regular business hours or shifts) to communicate with subordinates, supervisors, customers, vendors and any other persons or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and employer goals.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & SPECIAL LICENSE(S)/CERTIFICATIONS:

Basic education completing at least the 8th grade or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

1 year of experience in childcare watch preferred

SKILLS:

Attention to detail.

Basic mathematical and accounting skills.

Human Relations/Interpersonal skills.

Time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines.

Written and oral communication skills

MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to meet deadlines.

Ability to carry out assignments through written and oral instructions.

Ability to work in environment with many distractions and interruptions.

Ability to learn within two months of employment the Class Recreation Software program.

Alpha and numeric recognition.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to make and receive phone calls.

Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Ability to distinguish smells.

Ability to operate power and/or hand tools.

Hand and eye coordination adequate to input computer and typewriter

Ability to lift 30 lbs. and transport 20 feet.

Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
