The Employee Relations Mediator will work to reconcile employee relations matters including

grievances and other related issues.

Advises all involved parties in an employee relations dispute with the goal of reaching a

fair and amicable resolution that satisfies all party's needs.

â- Applies knowledge of business, legal, and industry best practices to help involved parties

reach an agreement.

â- Works efficiently and promptly such that wage loss, interruption of business operations,

ill feelings, and mistrust are minimized and mitigated.

â- Gather all supporting documentation of allegations and determine if the matter falls may

be mediated, requires further investigation, or if matter needs to be forwarded for

additional review by the CHRO or other appropriate party for determination of a policy

violation.

â- Actively listens to all sides of a disagreement; seeks understanding of undisputed facts,

identifies areas of mutual agreement, and suggests possible areas for compromise.

â- If mediation fails, suggests and arranges for the matter to proceed to next steps per policy.

â- Organizational Trainings

â- Familiar with principles of psychosocial safety for employees and management.

â- Offers informal counseling services to employees

â- Performs other related duties, as required.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Superior communication and negotiation skills.

â- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to see multiple facets of a dispute.

â- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.

â- Thorough understanding of employment law, industry practices and social policies that

may be pertinent to the business.

â- Ability to remain impartial when listening to the facts of a grievance or dispute.

â- Ability to work autonomously

â- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education and Experience:

â- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or law degree preferred.

â- At least 3 years of experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, or a related

field required.

â- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

Physical Requirements:

â- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

â- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

â- Work Location: In office, it is an essential function of this position
