Assists the Visitor Experience Supervisor of the Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Assists with opening and closing of facility, operation, and supervision of staff. Responsible for the oversight and coordination of gift shop services, including procurement, pricing, reconciling, and inventory control of merchandise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinates on the purchasing, management, and inventory controls for the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens gift shop services.

Supports the tracking and reporting on visitor attendance records.

Responsible for pricing of merchandise to meet financial goals.

Responsible for coordinating and compiling quarterly and year end financial reports for services sold out of the gift shop. Services include gift shop sales and membership sales.

Support financial sale processing and reporting, including cash/charge transactions via spreadsheet software or other reporting. Collection of money, and reconciliation of credit/debit card transactions.

Assists Supervisor in the design, layout, and organization of the LongHouse gift shop.

Assists Supervisor on coordination of building maintenance and building repair needs.

Assists Supervisor in the supervision and training of Arboretum and Botanical Gardens Cashier staff and Facility Attendants.

The employee must work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks. Must be available (especially during regular business hours or shifts) to communicate with subordinates, supervisors, customers, vendors and any other persons or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and employer goals.

The employee must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks, where applicable.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & SPECIAL LICENSE(S)/CERTIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent

One to two years college level courses preferred

Must be 18 years of age

EXPERIENCE:

Two years' experience in a fast paced, customer service environment, or an equivalent level of experience.

Two years of inventory management and purchasing experience.
