CITY OF OVERLAND PARK - POSITION DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Mows greens, tees, fairways and rough areas on a golf course. Operates and performs daily servicing/maintenance of mowers. Operates hand and power tools.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mows greens, tees, fairways, and rough areas on a golf course.
Operates greens mower, tee mower and wide-area rough mower. Performs daily servicing/maintenance of mowers utilizing hand and power tools.
Performs other duties as required.
The employee must work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks. Must be available (especially during regular business hours or shifts) to communicate with subordinates, supervisors, customers, vendors and any other persons or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and employer goals.
The employee must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks, where applicable.

EDUCATION & SPECIAL LICENSE(S)/CERTIFICATIONS:
Minimum 18 years of age.
No experience required. Some knowledge and/or experience operating lawn care equipment preferred.
Good listening skills.
Good oral communication skills.
Ability to analyze safety situation.
Ability to follow oral instructions.
Possess mechanical ability necessary to operate mowers.
Ability to operate power and hand tools such as grease gun, grinder and impact wrench.
Exposure to high noise levels.
Exposure to extreme environmental conditions.
Ability to work early morning hours.
