The Crime Laboratory Unit is comprised of two Crime Lab technicians who process crime scenes for recoverable physical evidence. Some of this material our lab officers analyze and some of it is transferred to a regional crime lab for more specific analysis. The Crime Lab technicians spent over 1,000 hours in the lab and 478 hours in the field processing cases. They also trained ten new evidence technicians for the department as well as taught crime scene processing at the Citizen’s Police Academy, Explorer Post meeting and post academy classes.
