The Patrol Division is the largest division and the most visible asset of the department. Patrol personnel provide direct police services and 9-1-1 responses. We have three patrol shifts; days, evenings and midnights.
Resource Allocation
To ensure complete and organized police coverage, the City is divided into four quadrants, which are made up of districts. The districts are determined by the demand of police services and are reviewed bi- annually. The higher the demand for services, the smaller the district. This marks the fourth consecutive year patrol has used districts as a method of allocating resources. Patrol personnel operates out of Scafe Station (8500 Antioch) and the Sanders Justice Building ( 12400 Foster). Both have station offices for walk in reports.
Priorities
A district officer’s primary mission is to ensure the safety of our citizens along with their own safety as they respond for calls for service, and address non-compliant persons. In addition, they are to work toward building partnerships with businesses, community and neighborhood leaders with a focus of prevention and reduction of crime along with enforcement of traffic laws.
