Recognition, Promotions and Training
Patrol officers were recognized throughout the year for their service, professionalism and dedication to the citizens they serve and the profession they represent. In 2017, 13 members were recognized with lifesaving awards, 1 officer was recognized as officer of the quarter, 3 members earned public safety awards, 4 awards of valor were received, 3 officers were recognized for their community service efforts, 2 more officers received police combat awards and 1 officer received a purple heart. There were also countless compliments from peers and citizens on the service and professionalism given by the officers.
Some of the comments include:
“Officer Hamilton was very pleasant and professional. He was very detailed and great to work with.”
“Officer Wainscott was professional and effective in his coordination of services. In turn, he interfaced with us and the other parties involved in our situation in a pleasant, engaging and knowledgeable manner. On a personal note, he was instrumental in turning what could have been an unpleasant experience for us, into a favorable, memorable part of our "trip adventures.“
