Recycle your Christmas Tree for free, help city parks
What’s going on?
Overland Park will have four drop-off locations for Christmas trees. Collected trees will be transformed into mulch for use in our city parks. Be sure to remove all lights, Christmas decorations and, most importantly, any presents, including cards with money.
When?
Tuesday, Dec. 26, through Sunday, Jan. 7.
Where?
Parking lots at:
Young's Park, 7701 Antioch
Indian Creek Recreation Center, 10308 Marty, just west of Metcalf
Quivira Park, 11901 Quivira
Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, 8909 W. 179th St.
Why recycle your tree?
Your tree can have a second life as mulch that will help trees in our city parks.
How can you recycle your tree?
Remove the stand, lights, tinsel, ornaments, and presents
Bring it to one of the parks listed above
Drop your tree off in the marked area
Drive home happy

You, others truly taking recycling to heart
Overland Park’s drop off recycling center is a fast and convenient place to do your recycling. The center, located at 11921 Hardy, is open Tuesday through Saturday and is staffed by city employees and great volunteers who can answer questions or help with your materials.
The materials collected at the center include:

Paperboard
Phone books
Liquid cartons
Paper tubes
Plastic food & beverage bottles Aluminum & steel cans
Glass bottles Window glass
Hours:
Tuesday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
